  • PAWS AND REFLECT | Exercising with your pet is good for both of you
Now that we have officially entered spring (though the weather doesn’t entirely reflect it), it is a good time to dust off that active wear and get out to enjoy nature with your pets.
  • Approximately one out of every three pets is lost each year. Streetlight posts and bulletin boards are plastered every day with fliers by owners hoping to be reunited with their beloved pets. Many of these fliers state that their pets have collars with ID tags, and owners figure this is how a good Samaritan will contact them.
  • PAWS AND REFLECT | Protect your dog from canine parvoviru
In the last couple of weeks, we have had many clients calling frantically to ensure that their pets are current on the canine parvovirus vaccination. We know that there was notification of a community-wide canine parvovirus outbreak, and we understand your fear.
  • The holidays are a special time when families come together to enjoy each other’s company. Delectable cuisine is prepared and heartily consumed, stories are regaled by the fireside and presents are lovingly handed round. It is natural that you would want your furry family member to be present during this jubilant festivity.
  • PAWS AND REFLECT | Indoor or outdoor for your cats?
While walking outside, it is not unusual to see many cats enjoying their freedom in the neighborhood. In fact, many cat owners allow their cats outdoors because they feel that it is in their nature to roam the great outdoors at will. Some cat parents even set up housing or food dishes outside on their porches for these emancipated cats. Indeed, many felines happily reach old age savoring sunshine and fresh air firsthand.
  • AMONG THE ANIMALS | The animal blogger
Blogging in Seattle seems like a natural outcrop of rainy days and a tech-savvy population, but I’m convinced blogging about animals is truly an art. According to Seattle Post-Intelligencer blogger Monica Bretherton, Seattle boasts a broad spectrum of people who like to read and write about animals.
  • Nowadays, a lot of people adopt animals in lieu of having biological children. They treat their pets as children, purchasing them clothing, sharing their beds and plates, and going everywhere their parent goes.
  • Flea infestations are certainly annoying. Flea bites are very itchy, as they produce an anticoagulant to encourage more blood flow.
  • Whether you are dipping your toes while sitting on the dock, quenching your thirst in the heat or strolling on the beach admiring the sunset, water is an essential part of summer. Creating lasting memories with your family is a great way to spend your summer months, and it is always important to encourage water safety.
  • AMONG THE ANIMALS | Valuing our bond with animals
It is amazing to realize, but there are few parts of our lives that do not influence the lives of animals.
  • PAWS AND REFLECT | Springtime can be hazardous to your pets
Spring is one of the best seasons of the year. It is a time of rebirth and a time to start anew.
  • One of my best friends for more than 30 years underwent open-heart bypass surgery a few weekends ago, and it was a bit of a wake-up call for everyone involved.

  • Unconditional love. Eternal gratitude. Joy expressed in wagging tails and purrs. A warm, soft body to cuddle with. A simple lifestyle. Facial expressions that reflect our every mood. Kisses whenever we want them. These are but a few of the wonderful things our pet companions bring into our lives.

  • PAWS AND REFLECT | Cold-weather joint care
This time of year, the frosty weather brings out colorful scarves and warm coats...
