Jewish Family Service is offering free professional and support services for primary caregivers of family or friends. 

Family Caregiver Support is provided through HomeCare Associates, the state-licensed home-care division of Jewish Family Service, 1601 16th Ave., with funding, in part, by federal and state grants. 

Services are offered community-wide, regardless of religion or financial status at no cost. They include: 

•Financial assistance;

•Referral to essential community resources; 

•Assistance accessing services; 

•Support groups and individual counseling for caregivers; 

•Practical training in effective caregiving; 

•Targeted respite care; and 

•Services for Russian-speaking elders. 

The Jewish Family Service Family Caregiver Support Program is part of a larger network coordinated by the Area Agency on Aging, which includes organizations such as Chinese Information and Service Center and Neighborhood House.
