LETTERS | Council sets up fund for officer's family

The East Precinct of the Seattle Police Department serves the Madison Park, Washington Park and Denny-Blaine neighborhoods.

On Oct. 31, 2009, Officer Timothy Brenton, who worked in our East Precinct neighborhood, was tragically murdered at 29th [Avenue] and [East] Yesler [Way]. Officer Brenton was 39 years old and a nine-year veteran of the department at the time of his death. He leaves behind a wife and two children.

In honor and recognition of Timothy Brenton and his dedicated service to our East Precinct neighborhood, the Madison Park Community Council urges those of you who want to help the Brenton family to donate to the Timothy Brenton Family Assistance Fund established at Bank of America. Tellers at any Bank of America location are able to accept cash or check donations to his Family Assistance Fund.
