The Martin Luther King Jr. School Dream Foundation will once again, for the 15th year, award scholarships to 10 former students of the former Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School.
This year’s scholarship recipients include Ballard High School’s Lilly Konek, The Bush School’s Melody D’Amelio (Olsen), Cleveland High School’s Jamilah Ousley and Korri Bland, Garfield High School’s Rashawd Battles, Kennedy High School’s Cheyanne Pitre, Lindbergh High School’s Na’imah Muhammad, Rainier Beach High School’s Jerimiyah Barquet and Rochelle Middlebrooks and Renton High School’s Laraysha Tramble.
The scholarship dinner will take place May 20 at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1634 19th Ave. The event begins at 6 p.m. with socializing, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the program at 7:30 p.m. The dinner is free, though a tax-deductible donation to defray dinner costs is welcome.
