According to police, just before 11 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to several reports of shots fired near 28th Avenue South and South Charles Street. They arrived to find an adult man lying in the street. The victim was not breathing and had obvious gun shot wounds. Officers immediately began CPR until the Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and took over life-saving measures.
The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Witnesses reported hearing several vehicles leaving the area following the shooting, but detectives do not have any suspect description.
Homicide detectives are conducting the follow-up investigation. Anyone with information about this homicide is urged to contact the police.
