Mentors needed for SGS students

Do you remember your middle school experience? Looking back, do you ever wish you had someone outside of your family and friends to talk to, to encourage you or maybe to open your mind to possibilities you may not have considered?

The Seattle Girls’ School (2706 S. Jackson St.) is seeking a diverse group of female-identifying mentors to match with its incoming sixth-grade class of 33 students. Mentors from any race, religion, sexual orientation and national or ethnic origin are needed.

The goal of the Mentor Program is to make the students “strong from the inside out” by building a village around each girl during a time when many young people search for role models outside of their immediate family.
