Barbara Frailey, most recently the Lower School director at Greene Hill School in Brooklyn, N.Y., is the new assistant head of school.
Cody Hagler will serve as the fifth-grade core teacher, having spent the last four years teaching, coaching and leading schools throughout the United States and in Bangkok. He also recently earned an Educational Specialist degree in PK-12 school administration from the University of South Dakota.
Rosetta Lee, a sixth-grade core teacher, will now serve as the school’s professional outreach specialist. She will speak and train others in the fields of diversity, inclusion and equity training across the country. She will also develop and deliver webcasts and in-house training to the school’s families, faculty and staff.
Taking Lee’s place in the classroom is Phelana Pang, who has taught science for 13 years in public and private schools in California, Texas and Saudi Arabia.
The school has added some new programs, including a Performance Studies/Performance Arts Program, led by resident writer and performance artist Anastacia Tolbert.
#SGS has also added volleyball to its fall sports schedule.
