BROADMOOR: SURPRISE INTRUDER
A Broadmoor resident walked into the East Precinct on June 10 to report a burglary that occurred at her home on Broadmoor Drive East the morning before.
The woman said that, at 4:30 a.m. on June 9, she looked across her courtyard to see a light on in a part of her home that she had not turned on. She then saw a man in the window.
She started slamming doors to scare the burglar and then went outside. She then saw that the light was now off and could no longer see the suspect.
She later checked her home; she didn’t think anything was taken.
The resident said she didn’t want police to check for evidence; she would notify them if she learns that something is missing.
The burglar likely entered through a side door that was left open for ventilation.
LESCHI: WHILE THEY WERE GONE
Between 9:30 p.m. June 7 and 7:30 a.m. June 8, someone broke into a home in the 700 block of 32nd Avenue South and stole two laptop computers. One of the computers, issued through work, was valued at $5,000.
A neighbor had called police about a smashed sliding glass door. Police arrived to find the glass door nearly entirely smashed, but no one was inside.
The neighbor said the residents were out of town, but the home appeared to have been intact around 9:30 p.m. the night before. Upon finding the broken glass door that morning, she left the homeowner a Facebook message.
Another neighbor provided police with the homeowner’s phone number. The homeowner said they were returning that afternoon, but he asked out the two laptop computers, which were now missing.
A friend of the homeowner walked through the home with police to see if anything else was missing; everything appeared to be in place, according to the police report.
