Seattle garbage, food- and yard-waste and recycling collections will be on normal schedule for Independence Day on July 4. Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) customers should place their containers out for collection by 7 a.m. to ensure collection.
Customers can report a Friday missed garbage, yard-waste or recycling collection after 8 a.m. on Monday by calling (206) 684-3000 or by visiting SPU’s web site: www.seattle.gov/util.
The City of Seattle’s South Transfer Station (130 S. Kenyon St.) in South Park is open extended hours, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
SPU can also pick up your bulky items: old furniture, mattresses, appliances and the like. The cost is $30 per item, $38 for items containing CFCs, such as refrigerators. Call (206) 684-3000 to arrange a bulky item collection.
