City Council to take comments on proposed budget

The Seattle City Council will host its first public hearing on the proposed 2015 budget on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Garfield Community Center. The public will have the opportunity to address council members regarding their priorities as it relates to the 2015 city budget.    

Sign-up for public comment will begin at 4:30 p.m.; the public hearing will start at 5:30 p.m.

The council received the mayor’s 2015 budget proposal on Sept. 22. Council members will spend the next two months reviewing and modifying the proposal to meet the needs of public safety, education, transportation and affordability.  

The council will have a second budget public hearing on Oct. 23 at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 600 Fourth Ave.
