Voters with disabilities have a new resource to support voting in the upcoming election, thanks to an outreach event at the Central Library (1000 Fourth Ave.).
The Central Library’s Library Equal Access Program (LEAP) Lab on Level 1 will provide on-site help to voters with disabilities on three dates before the Tuesday, Nov. 4 general election.
The times and dates are:
•4:30 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 23;
•4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., on Oct. 28; and
•Noon to 3 p.m., on Nov. 1.
King County Elections staff members will show voters how to access and mark their ballots using the online ballot-marking program. The online ballot-marking program allows voters to log in with their names and birthdates and mark their choices using the Library’s computers and adaptive equipment. Voters can confirm their selections online and then print their ballots.
Ballot return envelopes and a ballot box will be available.
This pilot program is open to all voters who may have difficulty completing their mail-in ballots without assistance or anyone who would like to vote privately and independently. Identification is required.
