McCanns raise $3,160 for Obliteride

Madrona’s Stacy McCann rode Obliteride’s 50-mile route in early August for her 11-year old daughter, Mary, who has brain cancer, and raised $3,160 of the total $2.25 million for cancer research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

Mary underwent treatment at Seattle Children’s and is now doing great. She went on stage at Obliteride’s kick-off party on Aug. 8 to sing with Michael Franti & Spearhead.

Obliteride (www.obliteride.org), the bike-ride fundraiser for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, traveled through the Washington Park Arboretum, Madison Valley, Denny-Blaine, Madrona and Leschi. The 25-, 50- and 100-mile rides each started and ended at Magnuson Park.
