Sawant to host Budget Town Hall tonight

Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant will host a People’s Budget Town Hall tonight (Thursday, Oct. 30) with representatives from the King County Labor Council, Casa Latina, the Low Income Housing Institute, the Transit Riders Union, Seattle Displacement Coalition, Washington Federation of State Employees Local 304, Puget Sound Advocates for Retired Action (PSARA), 15 Now, Socialist Alternative and others.

The People’s Budget Town Hall is intended to provide another opportunity for public testimony on the proposed city budget. The People’s Budget Town Hall will include presentations from coalition members on affordable housing, mass transit and social support. 

The event will take place in Seattle City Hall (600 Fourth Ave.), in the Council Chambers on the second floor, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Somali-language interpreters, assisted-listening devices and child-care providers will be available on-site.
