Comments taken on recommended city projects

The Puget Sound Regional Council is seeking public comment on projects recommended for funding in Seattle. They are among hundreds of transportation improvements — bridge repairs, new light rail extensions, bus service, pavement preservation, sidewalks and more — that will be under way through 2018 around the Puget Sound region.

Among the projects:

•Northgate Link (UW Station to Northgate), $21 million

•First Hill Streetcar (Broadway extension), $10 million

•Seattle Central Waterfront regional passenger-only ferry terminal, $6.24 million

•Center City protected bike lanes, Phase 1, $5 million

•Monorail system maintenance, $3.08 million

•Center City Gateway intelligent transportation systems, $2.62 million

•King County Ferry District vessel maintenance project, $2.4 million

•Renton Avenue preservation, $1.5 million

•Roosevelt Way preservation, $1.5 million

•South Michigan Street intelligent transportation systems, $1.38 million

•South Lake Union Streetcar maintenance, $1.12 million

•Seventh Avenue protected bike lane, $800,000

•State Route 99/North 60th to 145th streets – Paving and ADA-compliance, $785,000

•Low-income access to Bike Share Network, $397,900

•Route 48 South electrification, $200,000

The public comment period will end Oct. 23. The PSRC’s executive board is scheduled to approve the final 2015-2018 Transportation Improvement Program that day.
