Night Out events planned for Aug. 4

The annual Seattle Night Out Against Crime will take place Tuesday, Aug. 4. The event unites communities to heighten crime prevention awareness.

More than 1,400 registered events took place last year.

As of Sunday, Aug. 2, six Night Out events were registered with the Seattle Police Department:

•31st Avenue Block Party, between East Terrace and Jefferson Streets, from 6 to 9 p.m.;

•32nd Avenue East Block Party, between the 1000 and 2000 blocks of 32nd Avenue East, from 6 to 9 p.m.;

•Dearborn–28th/29th, on South Dearborn Street between 28th and 29th  avenues South, from 6 to 9 p.m.;

•Denny/27th/Howell Night Out Block Party, on 27th Avenue East between Denny and Howell streets, from 6 to 9 p.m.;

•East Helen Street Night Out Potluck, at 25th Avenue East and East Helen Street; and

•Night Out Block Watch Party, in the 700 block of 31st Avenue, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
