He replaces Eric Mandel, who left to pursue freelance work.
Veyera was most recently the editor-in-chief of the University of Washington Daily for the 2014-15 academic year. He graduated cum laude from the UW in June with a bachelor’s degree in communications, with an emphasis in journalism.
During his time as editor-in-chief, Veyera also worked as a news, sports and arts reporter for The Daily, and he had previously spent time as the paper’s news editor.
A Seattle native, Veyera is no stranger to neighborhood news. He served as editor of MyBallard.com and as a reporter for Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Patch.
You can also find Veyera’s work on FullCourt.com, as a beat reporter covering the Seattle Storm, and in Grand Salami Magazine, where he muses on the Mariners.
