Library to host special activities for Summer Parkways

During the Seattle Summer Parkways festivities in the Central Area, the Seattle Public Library will present a day of stories, music and outdoor activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 12 at the Douglass-Truth branch (2300 E. Yesler Way).

The program is free and open to the public; registration is not required. The event activities are suitable for all ages.

The City of Seattle will close down three miles of the Central Area to car traffic to give attendees the chance to test out new or planned bikeways that link together city parks, community centers and other community spaces.

For more information, call the Douglass-Truth Branch at (206) 684-4704 or visit www.seattle.gov/transportation/summerparkways.htm.
