This event is intended to inform the public about what body cameras are and the policies and laws that surround them and to spark discussion about how they should be used and whether they will, in fact, increase police accountability.
The event, moderated by CPC executive director Fé Lopez and CPC commissioner David Keenan, will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon at New Holly Gathering Hall (7054 32nd Ave. S.).
Panelists include:
•Jay Hollingsworth, chair of the John T. Williams Organizing Committee;
•Marissa Johnson and Dan Bash of Outside Agitators 206;
•Assistant City Attorney Andrew Myerberg;
•Jennifer Shaw, deputy director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington;
•Seattle Police Officers’ Guild president Det. Ron Smith; and
•Seattle Police Department chief operating officer Mike Wagers.
