The following are selected reports from the Seattle Police Department. They represent the officers’ accounts of the events described.
MADISON VALLEY: BIKE BURGLARY
Someone stole a bicycle from secured patio in the 1800 block of 24th Avenue between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on June 5.
According to the police report, the gate was locked, but someone could access the patio by jumping the fence enclosure. The bike was hung, unsecured, from a hook.
There were no signs of forced entry, and nothing else was taken.
The bicycle was valued at $1,000.
LESCHI: ANGRY DUO
Police responded to 28th Avenue and East Cherry Street around 9:35 p.m. on June 9 to investigate a report of a fight in progress involving up to four people in the street.
The victim called police while officers were en route, saying he would wait for them in the 500 block of 28th Avenue.
The victim later told police he saw two women, who appeared to be mother and daughter, urinating in his driveway. When he confronted them and asked them to leave, they refused.
The older suspect then removed her belt and began hitting him with it, while the younger suspect began punching him until he fell on the ground. Both women proceeded to hit as he lay there. The man said that every time he tried to defend himself, it “aggravated” the women more. The older woman then picked up a rock and broke out a window to a nearby vehicle.
As they left, one of the women picked up the victim’s cell phone, which had fallen to the ground during the assault. The man asked for his phone, and the suspect threw it on the ground, breaking the screen.
The victim noted that both suspects appeared intoxicated.
A witness corroborated much of the victim’s account of the assault, saying the female suspects appeared to be the aggressors. While he did not see any property damage, he said he heard the car window break. He also saw the suspects leave southbound on 28th Avenue.
Officers checked the area for the suspects, but they couldn’t find them.
The man suffered cuts to his right arm and left leg.
The police took photos of the damage done to the vehicle and the victim’s phone. They told the man to call 9-1-1 if the suspects returned.
