Veterans and Scout groups will place flags on each of the white marble upright markers in the Veterans Section of the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 7 a.m.
Various Cub, Boy and Girl Scout troops will assist with distributing programs and placing of the flags.
The Eagles and Letter-Carriers Band will then welcome veterans, their families and the public with music starting at 10:30 a.m. A special band concert and Service of Remembrance will follow, at 11 a.m.
Participating in the program are the Color Guard from the Marine Corps Security Force Battalion, Bangor; Maria Kesovija, soloist for the national anthem; Gordon Everett, who will offer the Invocation; and Col. Daniel S. Morgan, a commander at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), who deliver the Veterans Day address.
William MacCully will sing “America the Beautiful,” and the program will conclude with a rifle salute from JBLM.
Evergreen Washelli holds the remains of several Medal of Honor recipients. Their graves are roped off, and special markers have been placed at the grave, telling their story.
