Local artists to open studios

Several local artist studios will open for holiday shoppers. 

In Madrona, The Al Doggett Studio (1734 34th Ave.) will have wearable art, all-occasion cards, original fine art and prints available on Saturday, Dec. 5, and Sunday, Dec. 6, from noon to 6 p.m. both days. 

The Lysle Style Studio above Bottlehouse (1416 34th Ave.) will open Dec. 11, from 5 to 9 p.m., and Dec. 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Darcy Thompson’s Artcycled one-of-a-kind jewelry, belt buckles, garden art, tables and more made from second-use dishes and serving ware. Lysle Wilhelmi’s Lysle Style of clothing for women and girls will also be available.

In Madison Park, local artists will present a variety of handmade wares, including ceramics, hand-woven textiles, mosaics and mobiles, art yarns, etchings, paintings, block prints and sculpture. This Northwest Holiday Handmade show will take place Friday, Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Pioneer Hall (1642 43rd Ave. E.).

Madison Park’s David Rutherford will showcase his hand-sewn Barkley Sound Bags made of recycled sail material when he opens his studio (1208 41st Ave. E., in back) on Sunday, Dec. 6, from noon to 5 p.m.
