MADISON VALLEY: Big burglary
A woman arrived home in the 1700 block of 24th Avenue around 2 p.m. on Nov. 7 to find a gate open and a side door unlocked. Inside, items were found lying on the floor in one room, which was not how she left it, she said.
Responding officers found a shattered window, through which the burglar likely entered.
Drawers had been dumped on the floor as though the suspect “rapidly went through” them.
Two rifles stored in a closet were not taken; an unspecified number of handguns were also still in their storage areas.
However, the suspect stole $80 cash; about $400 in loose change in a glass jar; a jewelry box containing a $50 antique brooch, a $900 gold necklace, another necklace and about $2,500 worth of other jewelry; assorted camera equipment worth at total of about $8,455; and a $400 pellet gun.
Fingerprints found on several glass items were submitted into evidence.
Stolen computers
A woman in the 1800 block of 23rd Avenue called police to report that her home had been burglarized.
Two laptop computers were reported stolen at the time of the report.
The suspect likely entered through an unlocked basement window. No fingerprints were found.
MADRONA: Messy burglar
