The Madrona Community Council’s annual Halloween event for costumed trick-or-treaters will once again take place at the Madrona Shelterhouse (34th Avenue and East Spring Street), from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. The council will hand out treats, then send the trick-or-treaters on their way to visit businesses on and near 34th Avenue to collect even more treats.
Some venues will offer special events. For example, starting at 3 p.m., Bottlehouse (1416 34th Ave.) will have treating without the tricks, live music, apple bobbing and special seasonal bites.
Volunteers are needed to prepare baked goods or candy (two to three dozen each) at the Shelterhouse kick-off; email staceykryman@gmail.comto help out.
