WB SR 520 lane restricted for bridge work for next few months

Weeknight closures of westbound state Route 520’s right lane begin tonight (Tuesday, Oct. 27) between the SR 520 floating bridge and Montlake.

The recurring lane closure, expected to last for a few months, will allow contractor crews for the Washington State Department of Transportation to access and stage equipment on the highway’s West Connection Bridge. From there, crews will pour concrete for some of the shafts and columns of a new West Approach Bridge North structure.

The operation will occur Monday through Thursday nights, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, and, as needed, Saturday nights.

The single lane will close from the west end of the SR 520 floating bridge to Montlake Boulevard.

Drivers and nearby residents may see and hear construction activities from the concrete  deliveries, lighting equipment and other heavy machinery.
