Celebrate Neighbor Appreciation Day

City departments, community groups and residents across Seattle are hosting work parties, special events and open houses to celebrate Seattle’s annual Neighbor Appreciation Day.

On Friday, Feb. 12, Garfield Community Center (2323 E. Cherry St.) starts off the celebration with free indoor toddler gym, cookies and juice, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Seattle University then has its Redhawks men’s basketball game, from 7 to 9 p.m. at KeyArena. For free tickets, visit oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/seattleu/EN/promotion/home (use promotional code “NEIGHBORDAY.”

On Saturday, Feb. 13, local Fire Stations 6 (405 Martin Luther King Jr. Way S.) and 34 (633 32nd Ave. E.) will have an open house event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
