Event organizers call the public to continue King’s work on racial equality, economic justice and peace with the theme “We have the power to make change.”
The day of events include workshops for youths at Garfield High School (400 23rd Ave.), from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m.; a rally in the school gym, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and a march to the Jackson Federal Building at Second Avenue and Madison Street in downtown, starting at 12:30 p.m. The march will conclude with another rally, at 1:45 p.m., outside the Jackson Federal Building.
The events will take place regardless of weather conditions.
