Metro on revised schedule for Monday holiday

King County Metro Transit buses will operate on reduced weekday service on Monday, Jan. 18, for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. The King County Water Taxi will not operate on Jan. 18.

Details about the reduced weekday schedule are posted on Metro’s holiday and reduced service page (metro.kingcounty.gov/alerts/holidays.html). Under a Community Mobility Contract created by County Executive Constantine and funded by voter-approved Proposition 1, regular bus service will be provided on about three dozen routes within the City of Seattle that were previously designated as reduced-service days.

Metro offices — including the Customer Information phone line at (206) 553-3000, Lost and Found and Pass Sales counters — will closed Jan. 18.

The reduced weekday schedule will be in effect again on Monday, Feb. 15, for President’s Day.

On days with reduced weekday schedules, some commuter and school-oriented routes do not operate, and other routes have individual trips canceled. Also, Metro makes adjustments to routes that serve the University of Washington.

Many routes will have no changes.

The Vashon and West Seattle routes of the King County Water Taxi will not operate Jan. 18. For information about King County Water Taxi service — and DART Shuttle routes 773 and 775 — during the holidays, visit www.kingcounty.gov/watertaxi.
