King County voters have authorized changes to the county charter, to a man. 

Actually, make that "to a person."

In initial results released 8:42 p.m. Tuesday night, voters had passed an amendment to alter the county charter's language to become gender neutral, replacing pronouns like "he" to "they" and similar inclusive language. The measure is passing popularly with more than two-thirds of the vote -- 66.9 percent.

Even more popular was a charter amendment to make the county prosecuting attorney a nonpartisan position. The amendment was passing with 75.37 percent of Candidates for office will no longer run with a partisan affiliations such as Democrat or Republican.

Under Washington state's vote-by-mail system, ballots continue to be counted until certification nearing the end of the month.
