The Madison Park Art Walk returned this month, featuring dozens of artists who will display their work in local businesses along the East Madison Street commercial corridor.
An opening reception was held Friday, Sept. 9, at the Madison Park Starbucks, 4000 E. Madison St. Featured artists from all lines of creative work showed up to preview their installations and answer questions.
And “all lines of creative work” indeed means all lines, even the nonvisual. This year, the walk will feature five authors. Stephanie Joyce Cole, Leslie Stark, Kate Matison, James Brock and J.L. Spoor will be set up in the offices of Shoesmith Cox Architects on 1928 43rd Ave. East, Suite A.
Stark released her debut children’s book, “Bella of Madison Park,” in July. The story was inspired by a dog that once lived in the neighborhood.
Elsewhere, jeweler Diane Schumacher will display her silver, gemstone, pearl, and vintage bead pieces in Salon in the Park.
Graffiti artist Alec Gooding will be featured at Windermere Real Estate.
Botanical watercolorist Peggy Miller will be featured at Madison Park Jewelers.
The Seattle Psychoanalytic Society and Institute will feature several artists, including Cara Alexander, Maaike Baker, Gina Balli, Veronique Burke, Rob Janes, Karl Krogstad, Michael Miller, Liz Ulrich and Eve Wright.
All artists’ work will be on sale during the Art Walk.
