News from Leschi
Our Oct. 5 meeting will feature pro and con speakers on two of the more complicated ballot issues: Initiative 732, Carbon WA, and Sound Transit Proposition 1 for ST3 transit funding. We meet at the Central Area Senior Center, 500 30th Ave. S., one block south of Jackson. Meeting starts promptly at 7 p.m.
Frisbee for Food
Leschi has challenged our neighbors to the north, Madrona, to an Ultimate Frisbee game on Oct. 15. It’s pay-to-play with a $10 registration fee that will benefit the Rainier Valley Food Bank. The match will be held at 2 p.m. in the upper field of Leschi Park near the tennis courts. A potluck tailgate party follows the game. All are welcome to play, cheer, join in the tailgate party and, of course, donate to the food bank.
