Local artist Season Yoshida to be featured at Japanese Garden

Bellevue artist Season Yoshida will see her exhibit “Ichi-go Ichi-e” featured at the Seattle Japanese Garden.

The exhibit, the name of which translates to “One Place, One Time,” will have an opening reception at 5 p.m. April 6, during the garden’s free admission day.

The exhibit, set to remain on display through May, will consist of visual installations from Yoshida meant to capture the unique nature of each visit to the Japanese Garden.

Yoshida is a multimedia artist who works with digital photography, paint and musical compositions. She began making art full time after 20 years in a corporate career, but has been creating art her entire life. On her Behance webpage, she credits her father’s work as an artist as a primary influence.

“With the advent of the digital world, I'm finding the middle path to incorporate traditional analog art and binary processed modern technology,” Yoshida writes on her website.

“Ichi-go Ichi-e” will be accompanied by music composed by Yoshida during the opening night reception.

The free entry on April 6 is part of Free First Thursdays, the day of the month that entry into Seattle museums and cultural centers is free. The garden will be free from 3 p.m. until closing.

The Seattle Japanese Garden is located at 1075 Lake Washington Boulevard South.
