Police arrest burglary suspect Sunday in Madison Park

A King County Superior Court Judge found probable cause to hold 29-year-old Kenneth Polk-Jones for second-degree burglary following his arrest in Madison Park on Sunday.

A homeowner in the 4000 block of East Prospect Street called Seattle Police after reportedly finding Polk-Jones standing inside his garage with an armful of property, according to a police report. The homeowner said Polk-Jones was calm and stood there, until he approached him, at which point he ran out the garage door. The door had been left partially open, and the resident reported it off its track following the incident.

A resident at 42nd Avenue East and East Galer Street flagged down an officer to report a suspicious person seen walking through the alley behind their house, which is when Polk-Jones was taken into custody, according to the report filed by Seattle Police Officer John Chesney.

Chesney writes that the homeowner was taken to the scene of the arrest and positively identified Polk-Jones as the suspect. The officer notes he contacted the suspect the day before regarding a possible trespassing issue.

The King County Prosecutor’s Office reports Polk-Jones refused to leave his jail cell on Tuesday, so no bail was set. He will have a second appearance at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
