36th Dist. reps to get face time in Olympia

Residents of the 36th Legislative District are invited to come to the Washington State Capitol campus Feb. 20 to meet district legislators Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles, Rep. Helen Sommers and Rep. Mary Lou Dickerson.

Participants will have an opportunity to ask their legislators questions and discuss concerns such as - but not limited to - the state budget and revenue, civil rights legislation; funding for K-12 and higher education, human services, and public safety; labor and commerce issues; transportation, healthcare and other issues lawmakers face in the 2006 session.

The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Senate Hearing Room 3 in the Cherberg Building. Afterward, participants will be welcome to visit committee hearings and/or floor sessions, take a tour of the capitol campus, attend rallies and so forth. A brown-bag lunch will follow from noon to 1 p.m. in the Senate Rules Room on the second floor of the Legislative Building. During lunch, constituents will have opportunities ask questions and talk to their representatives.

The 36th Legislative District includes Magnolia, Queen Anne, Interbay, Belltown, South Lake Union, Phinney Ridge and parts of Ballard, Crown Hill, Fremont, Greenwood, Loyal Heights and Sunset Hill.
