Boys & Girls Clubs Youths of the Year: Vincent Williams Jr., 17

Williams, a Greenwood resident, is a senior at Ballard High School.

He has been a member of the North Seattle Boys & Girls Club for seven years and is currently the co-president of the club's Keystone Club.

"This home, my home, is a place for refuge," he said. "Without the Boys & Girls Club, I wouldn't be the man I am today."

Williams recently hiked 72 miles and climbed three mountains in two weeks, which proved to him that he could do anything he put his mind to, he said.

In fact, he continues to volunteer at a homeless shelter, resulting in more than 360 volunteer service hours last year. He volunteered 44 of those hours at the club last year.

"The club only puts out what we put in, so I put my all in it every day," he explained.

Williams plans to attend DeVry University or The Art Institute of Seattle. to become a video-game designer.[[In-content Ad]]
