From snow to floodwaters

Workers remove debris from Meadowbrook Pond on Tuesday, Dec. 4, after a weekend that brought about 3 inches of snow (inset, at Wallingford Playfield) and then torrential rain that caused nearby Thornton Creek to overflow its banks and flood the surrounding neighborhood. The flooding forced Nathan Hale High School to close until next Monday, Dec. 10, and at least seven flooded homes were tagged with emergency notices of limited entry due to severe damage. The Seattle Fire Department delivered these notices by boat.[[In-content Ad]]
