Is it Paris? New York?

Well, almost. Or, not quite.

The Greater Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce held a luncheon and fashion show at the Best Western Executive Inn at 200 Taylor Ave. N. on Thursday, June 21.

The tongue-in-cheek event raised funds for Queen Anne Helpline.

Before the show began, master of ceremonies Bill Hoffer reminded the audience that those about to strut or sashay down the runway were brave community volunteers, not professional fashion plates.

Hoffer's running commentary was accompanied by musical soundtracks ranging from "Walk on the Wild Side" to "We Will Rock You."

Christa Dumpys, the city's Neighborhood District Coordinator for Queen Anne and Magnolia, showed up festooned in red tape. Her outfit was complemented, appropriately, by a pair of scissors.

Video Isle's Craig Wilson, appearing in drag, did a turn right out of "Some Like It Hot." Wilson's legs were clearly at odds with his new persona, however.

Others, in various guises, who took the long walk down the runway on behalf of the Helpline: Sally Del Fierro, Hossein Soleymani, Pat Sobeck, Bryan Larson, Dave Peterson, John Gaston, Andrew Barker, Christopher Togawa, Brian Marshall, Toni Kuhl Radford, Sue Donovan, George Coromilas, Sharlene Montrope, Nicole Pastarnack, Phil Webb, Diane Yuen, Julie Mains, Karen Curtiss, Michael Garner and Leilani McCoy.
