Joseph A. Bly, Seattle firefighter, dies

Joe Bly, Seattle firefighter with 17 years in the department, housed at Station Eight on Queen Anne Hill, died early Saturday, Dec. 1, in a single auto accident on Highway 530 near Oso.

Mr. Bly was a dedicated firefighter and avid sportsman whose special love was fly fishing. He lived on the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River, collected classic fly fishing gear and fished with some of the best steelheaders in the area.

A humble man who lived his life to the fullest, he will be missed by all who knew him.

Joe spent 15 years of his 17-year career serving the citizens of the Queen Anne community on Ladder Six out of Station Eight at the intersection of Lee and Warren.

Funeral arrangements are undetermined at this time.
