Learn how to build green

Did you know you can receive financial incentives if you build green? Specify material for your driveway that are fish-friendly? Adopt framing approaches that save energy and materials? Use harvested rainwater to flush your toilets? Get paid to generate your own on-site energy?

Green City Building's expert green-builder Thor Peterson knows how and is available to give live, technical assistance to anyone interested in building green. He will be answering your questions, teaching how to make the best use of available incentives and enabling you to take your building projects to a higher level of performance.

You can visit Peterson at DPD's Applicant Services Center on the 20th floor of Seattle Municipal Tower on Mondays from 1 - 5 p.m. and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. at 700 5th Ave.

Peterson also teaches residential green building workshops and classes on the third Monday of each month at Whole Foods Market at Roosevelt Square. The following classes are held from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the market's Salud! Cooking Classroom: Green Building 101 (July 16), Green Materials & Products (August 20) and Green Home Case Studies (September 17).
