SOFTBALL: The Wallingford Community Senior Center, 4649 Sunnyside Ave. N., Suite 140, will be home to the only two 50+ co-ed softball teams (recreational and competitive) in Seattle as they start practices in March. The Greenwood SAGE Project's first event was a Civic Engagement Fair in January, where representatives from such nonprofit organizations as New Horizons, Compassion and Choices and Casa Latina offered volunteer opportunities.Also, the program will have an Action Day every fourth Tuesday of the month, where seniors can learn about issues and act on them by volunteering. January's focus was global poverty, with emphasis on pregnant women and young children.
