Shakespeare tour coming to public among other venues

Freehold Theatre's Engaged Theatre Program is presenting to the public William Shakespeare's "Cymbeline" with live music by Gino Yevdjevich of Kultur Shock at Volunteer Park on Thursday, July 12, through Saturday, 14, at 8 p.m. at Freehold Theatre's East Hall Theatre.

The program will also bring the performance and theatre workshops to culturally underserved communities including Harborview Medical Center, New Futures at Arbor Heights, Washington Correctional Center for Women, two units at the Monroe Correctional Center, Echo Glen Children's Center as apart of their commitment to engaging artists of all levels in training and experimentation to become more innovative in generating theater.

"Cymbeline" is a story of transformation and journey that we all take to come to our true authentic selves. Freehold's Engaged Theatre program is funded in part by the Paul Allen Family Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, 4 Culture, the Mayor's Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs and a 2-year matching New Generations grant, which is funded by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and administered by Theatre Communication Group.

The program is directed by Robin Lynn Smith. Volunteer Park is located at 1247 15th Ave E. The Freehold Theatre is located at 1529 10th Ave. Admission is by donation. The suggested donation is $12. For more information visit www.freeholdtheatre.org
