South End land use: public comment sought for the 1400 S. Dearborn St. through Aug. 7

PERMIT APPLICATIONS

1208 S. Massachusetts St. (3007299) for a Land Use Application to subdivide one parcel into four unit lots. The construction of townhouses has been approved under Permit No. 753653. This subdivision of property is only for the purpose of allowing sale or lease of the unit lots. Development standards will be applied to the original parcel and not to each of the new unit lots. The following approval is required: Short Subdivision to create four unit lots. Water Availability Certificate may be needed but was not included in this application. Written comments accepted through Wednesday, Aug. 1.


PERMIT DECISIONS

4505 S. Trenton St. (3005676) on a Land Use Application to allow five townhouse units, (a two-unit structure and a three-unit structure) with parking for five vehicles located within the structures. Existing two-unit apartment to remain. The following appealable decision has been made based on submitted plans: Determination of Non-Significance with conditions (no Environmental Impact Statement required). Environmental review completed, and project conditioned as applicable. The hearing examiner must receive appeals of this decision no later than Aug. 2.

3618 Courtland Place S. (3006417) on a Land Use Application to allow one three-unit townhouse and one four-unit townhouse. Parking for seven vehicles to be provided within the structures. Existing structure to be demolished. Parking for nine vehicles will be located within the structures pending lot boundary adjustment No. 3005291. 4515 Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. (3006668) on a Land Use Application to install a new minor communication utility (AT&T) consisting of three panel antennas on the roof of an existing residential building. Five equipment cabinets will be located on the ground floor in an equipment room. The following appealable decision has been made based on submitted plans: Determination of Non-Significance with conditions (no Environmental Impact Statement required). Environmental review completed, and project conditioned as applicable. The hearing examiner must receive appeals of this decision no later than Aug. 2.


DESIGN REVIEWS

1400 S. Dearborn St. (3001242) a contract rezone from IC-65' to NC3-85'. Proposal also includes a request to vacate portions of S. Lane St., Dearborn Place S. and Corwin Place S. Land Use Application to allow a six-story building containing retail, administrative office, warehouse and 565 residential units (in residential towers above the commercial bases). Parking for 2,200 vehicles to be provided within the structures. Project includes demolition of all structures on site and grading. Seattle Goodwill Industries to be relocated on site in a new facility. Existing structures to be demolished. Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement to be prepared.

At the Design Review Board meeting the applicant presented information about the proposed design and how it responds to the Design Guideline priorities established at the Early Design Guidance Board meetings on July 24, regarding this site; the public may offer comments regarding the proposed design.The meeting will take place Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Goodwill Industries, 1400 S.
