Author to discuss ‘Little Ethiopia’

Author Joseph W. Scott will discuss his co-authored history of Seattle’s Ethiopian community 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Douglass-Truth Library (2300 E. Yesler Way). Admission is free.

Scott will begin the event with a discussion of the Ethiopian community with Assaye Abunie, executive director of the Multimedia Resources and Training Institute in Seattle. He will end with a discussion of the book and will answer audience questions.

Scott is professor emeritus of sociology at the University of Washington. His articles have appeared in The American Sociological Review and The Political Science Review, among others. He is the author of “The Black Revolts” and co-writer of “Little Ethiopia of the Pacific Northwest” with Solomon A. Getahun.
