LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Cut-through traffic still happening

[Regarding “Traffic Study to Reveal Dorffel Drive’s Local Use,” September 2014]: This is the only way I could find to comment on the traffic study being done on Dorffel Drive East.

I cycle through the service location intersection a couple times a week, and since the barricades have been put up, I’ve seen multiple vehicles drive around the island on East Harrison [Street] to get around the barriers’ restriction against entering/exiting Lake Washington Boulevard [East].

By the way, I ride to/from Montlake on the designated Arboretum cycle bypass, and there’s plenty of “cut-through” traffic speeding on that route, too. Car drivers basically don’t care about traffic-calming restrictions.
