Seattle Police report a 27-year-old man was arrested Thursday as the suspect in a shooting incident in the Central District on March 20. 

According to an SPD Blotter post, officers responded to reports of gun shots and a car chasing another vehicle near 23rd Avenue and East Union Street around 7 p.m. Monday, March 20. Police report two homes were struck by gunfire, but no one was injured. The suspect arrested Thursday had been identified that night by SPD Gang Unit detectives, according to the blotter post. The man is a convicted felon and not legally allowed to possess a firearm.

The blotter report states SWAT officers made contact with the suspect while he was sitting in a car near the scene of the March 20 shooting, at which point he aimed a firearm at officers “before quickly dropping it and surrendering.”

The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation for assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and narcotics possession, for a small amount of crack cocaine found in his possession, according to police.
