Molly Moon’s is celebrating its 10th birthday with free scoops for the first 100 customers at every shop on Thursday.

Molly Moon Neitzel opened her first shop in Wallingford on May 10, 2008, banking on the success her homemade ice cream sales. A party will be held there on Thursday, with Neitzel serving scoops, and a DJ spinning from 3-5 p.m.

Neitzel opened the Madrona location, 1408 34th Ave., in 2011. The smallest location, it offers six flavors, instead of the typical 14. Hours are noon to 11 p.m.

Neitzel developed her passion for making ice cream while working at The Bigg Dipper scoop shop in Missoula, Montana.

Neitzel told Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan that her 2018 goals include maintaining a diverse workforce, and the company recently became a B Corp-certified company.

The free scoops for the first 100 customers is for each location: Wallingford, Madrona, Capitol Hill, University Village, Columbia City, Queen Anne, 19th and Mercer and Redmond.
