WSDOT hosting SR 520 Trail grand opening on May 20

WSDOT will celebrate the grand opening of the State Route 520 Trail 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20, starting at the western trailhead, 2802 E. Park Drive E. 

There will be a short ceremony at 11 a.m. to acknowledge community partners, including the Cascade Bicycle Club, followed by an informal ribbon-cutting for 520 Day. 

The community project opened in December and spans the entire 520 bridge over Lake Washington. The transportation department counted more than 1,800 cyclists the first day it opened.
