Leschi ArtWalk steps into seventh year

The seventh annual Leschi ArtWalk runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.

People can visit with various artists, jewelry makers, leather crafters and more at booths in front of businesses on Lakeside Avenue. A 12-year-old resident, billed as “the youngest entrepreneur in the neighborhood,” will be at the Sugar Cloud booth, according to a news release.

There will be kids’ events in Leschi Park, including a big slide face painting and crafts, plus a number of bands will perform on the park stage: Vawachi II Marimba Ensemble at 11 a.m.; Abráce at 1 p.m. and The Rio Thing at 3 p.m.

A dog parade will be held at 2 p.m., where canine competitors can show off their best tricks and costumes.

The Leschi Market will also have half-pound prime rib sandwiches available for $10.
