Update: WSDOT closing eastbound SR 520 lanes Nov. 9-10

Update: The closure was originally scheduled for Oct. 26-27, but was delayed due to rain.

WSDOT will shut down the eastbound lanes of State Route 520 across Lake Washington on the weekend of Nov. 9-10 to reconfigure traffic as part of the ongoing SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program.

SR 520 will close between Montlake Boulevard and 84th Avenue Northeast on the Eastside at 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8. Traffic in both directions will be reduced to two general-purpose lanes between Montlake and the floating bridge starting at 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, according to WSDOT.

Westbound traffic was reduced to two general-purpose lanes during the Oct. 12-13 weekend.

Crews will be removing old pavement, moving the concrete barrier, and paving and restriping during the Nov. 9-10 closure.

WSDOT will host an open house 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Montlake Community Center, 1618 E. Calhoun St.

Attendees can learn about the progress to date on the Montlake Project, take a survey on a temporary market or food service that could be provided after the Montlake Market closes, and learn about the Montlake Cut Bascule Bridge, Portabe Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid projects.
