Seattle Public Library
The Seattle Public Library has added open hours at the Ballard, Capitol Hill, Douglass-Truth, Madrona-Sally Goldmark, Montlake and Rainier Beach branches. Hours at these locations were temporarily reduced over the summer due to staffing constraints.
Changes to Library open hours include:
• Ballard Branch: Tuesday evening hours restored. Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays.
• Capitol Hill Branch: Thursday morning hours restored. Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays.
• Douglass-Truth Branch: Wednesday morning hours restored. Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.
• Madrona-Sally Goldmark Branch: Saturday hours restored. Open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.
• Montlake Branch: Sunday hours restored. Open from noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
• Rainier Beach Branch: Tuesday evening hours restored. Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays.
In coming months, as staffing levels allow, more hours will be restored at additional Library locations where hours were temporarily reduced. A complete schedule of open hours for all Library locations can be found below.
INCREASED ACCESS AT CENTRAL LIBRARY
The library also increased access to the Central Library’s non-fiction Book Spiral, located on Levels 6 through 9, as well as the Level 10 Betty Jane Narver Reading Room beginning Sunday.
The library is also increasing access to The Hugh and Jane Ferguson Seattle Room, located on Level 10. Patrons can visit the Seattle Room by appointment from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
LIBRARY HOURS BY LOCATION
The following Library schedule is taking effect this month. Current open hours for all branches can be found at spl.org/Hours.
• Central Library: Levels 1 through 5, including the Level 1 Microsoft Auditorium, Level 1 Faye G. Allen Children’s Center, Level 3 Norcliffe Foundation Living Room, Level 3 FriendShop, Level 4 Red Floor with public meeting rooms, and Level 5 Charles Simonyi Mixing Chamber with public computers and Quick Information Center: Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
• Levels 6 through 10, including the Levels 6-9 Book Spiral and Level 10 Betty Jane Narver Reading Room: Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
• Level 10 Hugh and Jane Ferguson Seattle Room: Patrons can visit the Seattle Room by appointment on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
