The Friends of the Children-Seattle is hosting its Friendship Ball, its annual fundraising gala, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 21 at Hyatt Regency Seattle, 808 Howell St. Tickets are available through Oct. 14 at friendsseattle.ejoinme.org. The event will feature a live auction, and stories from Friends of the Children families and an opportunity to see how mentors work with the youth. The funds raised support the Friends of the Children-Seattle mentorship program. Friends of the Children – Seattle is a chapter of a nationwide organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of generational poverty through salaried, professional mentoring.
